Celebrities Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor Address Box Office Clash: Putting Audiences First, Not Each Other

Vicky Kaushal and Sam Bahadur discuss the box office clash, joking about “sandwich” between Katrina Kaif’s films.

Vicky Kaushal shared his thoughts on the box office clash between his film “Sam Bahadur” and Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal.” Both films are set to release on the same day, and Vicky expressed his excitement for “Animal,” just like any other movie. Speaking at Sam Bahadur’s teaser launch event, Vicky was asked about the clash.

“I think that Friday, we will finally hand over our films to the audience. This will be a day more about the audience than us. In today’s time, as an industry, we should give the audience the option of several films on the same day. In this way, as an industry, we will grow. We have so many weeks in a year, but as an industry, we can’t limit ourselves to making only one film in a year. We have to make several films, and multiple films will release on the same day,” he said.

Vicky continued, “We have to create an atmosphere where we can work on multiple films in a single day. We have strength in our audience, we have power at the audience level, so why not? I think we need to expand this scope now. Given the current scenario, the enthusiasm in the audience, I believe that if they connect with two films and both films are good, both can work. So, I’m as excited for ‘Animal’ as anyone else. As long as it’s a good day for the audience. We work for them, not against each other.”

“Animal” is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and features Ranbir Kapoor along with Anil Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna.

When reminded that his wife, Katrina Kaif, also has films in line before and after his film’s release, Vicky responded humorously, “At home, we chat… She is excited for my film, and I am excited for hers. And she hasn’t just had one film after mine; she had a film even before mine. I’m sandwiched between her films, and it’s a great place to be.” Salman Khan and Katrina’s next film, “Tiger 3,” is scheduled for a Diwali release on November 10. Meanwhile, Katrina’s “Merry Christmas” with Vijay Sethupathi is ready for theatrical release on December 15.
